  1. Default Savage Model 720 Riot For $5250

Any thoughts on this Savage Model 720 riot gun on Pre98.com?

    https://pre98.com/shop/new-arrivals-...mint-unissued/

Sold for $5250 in less than a day. At first I thought that was high but it looks legit, and the serial number and game scene make it an early one.

Someone has money to burn. Probably a $700 gun.

Yup, looks legit and is certainly rare. But I'm not so sure it's $5200 bucks kinda rare. But in the era of 70k Rem M10's, 20k M37's, 8k 620's ect. ect. ect., it's not really surprising. Maybe the collecting world is finally beginning to realize just how rare riotguns are. Certainly worth considerably more than $700 bucks though.
It has been my experience that except for the Winchester M12 and the Stevens 520 & 620 riotguns, genuine "US" riot shotguns are extremely rare. More so than most "trenchguns" by far. It's not difficult to find m97, m12, 520 or 620 trenchguns. On the other hand I find legit "US" riots very few and far between. Now if you'll excuse me I'll dawn my asbestos suit. My 2 cents.

Correct. The riots are way harder to find.
WWII 97 riot is almost a grail gun.
But they don't bring the same money for whatever reason.

True. The trenchguns get all the glory. Value isn't necessarily contingent on rarity.
