Togor is correct, they are tribute snipers because they are not original snipers.

The 1913 Warner & Swasey scope is original but it's not numbered which means it was never issued with a rifle so at some point someone added the mount to the rifle and put the scope on it. Most all of the ordinal ones with those scopes had them removed when the scope was declared obsolete. So I'm calling it a tribute to the WWI sniper rifle.

The Winchester A5 scope is original and has the USMC adjustment knobs on it as well as the N-M mounts and it is not even mounted on the rifle yet. I have the rear block that came with the scope and am corresponding with Steve Earle about getting the front block. Once I have that the person I purchased the rifle from will be mounting the blocks and modifying the handguard so I can attach that scope. The scope case I have with it is a post WWI case. Thus a Tribute WWI USMC sniper rifle.

The USMC 1941 I purchased from John Spangler of Old Guns and he had the unertl scope blocks attached and handguard modified and has stamping on the barrel and handguard to show that it's not original. So again a Tribute and not an original sniper rifle plus that one has a reproduction USMC unertl scope and not an original one.

I like the fact that you represent these rifles honestly and don't try to cloud the issue for those who come after us. They are fine rifles as they are and ginning up a 'gunbroker.com' story only detracts from a rifle, IMO.
