Koruku Type 99 Series 20 Chrome Firing Pin

I have a Koruku Type 99 Series 20 with what appears to be a chromed Firing Pin. Did they start out with chromed pins?

If you have doubts about your pin being chrome or not . . . .

Touch it with some cold bluing solution . . . .

If chrome, it will not “take” the bluing.
