Any other sources for 1903 colt history. Thanks for any help
If blue then made before 1942 and I think your serial number is blued. If Parkerized then made from 1942 to the end of the war. Value depends on the finish of the pistol. 95% is $1200 and 70% is $650. If issued to a general and one must have written proof then the value increases by at least $600. If not listed on the SRS then a Colt letter may help. It will state when made and to which branch of the service and where it was shipped.
Waiting on the Colt letter..pistol is blued, 1941
Prob about 85 percent. Nice grips.

Colt Pocket Hammerless .32 production ceased at the end of 1942, and resumed in the spring of 1944 at about serial number 562000, and at this time the finish was changed from blue to phosphate. The letters continued to show the finish as blue right up until almost the end of production.
The Colt letters also continued to show the finish of the Model 1911A1 as blue even though the finish was changed to phosphate in July of 1941.
Thanks for checking.
