    Default Red dot type sights

Does anyone have any experience with the Sightmark, Firefield or Browning Benchmark red dot sights for a 1911? I know, I know, there are a lot more expensive sights out there, I see them advertised on TV on all the outdoor channel, but I don't want to spend the cost of another '1911' to put a red dot sight on the one I already have. I'm not looking to shoot 75-100 yds. What should I look for, especially recoil tolerance and keeping on point?

Of your choices I think the Sightmark or the Browning would be the best choice. The Sightmark has a few models that would meet your needs. For the cheapest reliable red dot sight, I would consider the Bushnell TRS-25. I have used the TRS-25 on rifles and pistols. In the $50 range the TRS-25 is hard to beat.
