    Those 88's were really effective weapons. Makes sense for GI's to turn them around and use them on the Germans! JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

    Notice in one of the Life magazine photos, the concussion of the M88 is blowing the helmet off one of the GI’s.

    I was surprise that there was no visible signs of damage from being captured. I believe the largest antitank gun that the US had at the time was the 3 inch (76.2mm) M5 Anti-tank gun. The 88mm high velocity Ant-tank gun would have been a world of difference.
