Default Couldn't wait for the CMP

I couldn't wait for the CMP. Picked up a mix-master M1911A1 today, from Cabela's no less. It's an Augusta Arsenal rebuild with a Remington-Rand slide on a circa 1918 Colt frame. The finish is uniform and shows some honest wear. Slide to frame fit seems tight - over all it is better than the last 1911 I qualified with in the Army.

The bad news is it has a compensator barrel bushing on it.

I'm looking for a new bushing - see my post on the For Sale/Wanted Forum.

It seems like U.S. military collectibles are getting hard to find. I was surprised to see this in the local gun library. With my military discount it was priced right and with Cabela's points, I couldn't pass it up.

Now to get it to the range.

You are fortunate to find such a nice pistol! The goofy bushing is easy to replace. Replace it. Then get some ammo and head for the range! Sincerely. bruce.
