    Default Miller Conversion

IMA has an interesting rifle. I have never seen one of these before. Don't know much about them.

Very nice specimen, but that is a full retail valuation, with no foreseeable upward potential. I always wanted to branch out a bit further with the alternative breech-loading conversions, but just couldn't swing it financially.

There are the Miller, Roberts, Needham, Morse, Mont-Storm, several rolling blocks, etc., but I drew my line at Springfield-made, or at least assembled.

Too rich for my blood as well.

Here's one that sold, but can't tell when. Looks very nice as well at a more reasonable price.

I have collected a few conversion muskets. Millers never seem to have the collector interest as the others, though.

Collector interest seems to be waning fast for trapdoors as well, unfortunately.

That is true for most any collectable rifles. As the real enthusiasts get what they want, interest falls off. Many come back on the market (from the profiteers) at the high prices but are very slow to sell. We are at that last point with M1 Garand's, I think. I have all I want at 495 (CMP), one was 160 (DCM). And of course the really nice examples stay in collections.
