Default Colt 1911a1 missing final inspector marking?

Have any of the learned members of the board ever seen, or heard of a Colt 1911a1 from 1942, around the 850,000 sn range, that is missing the final WB/GHD inspector marking? The pistol in question looks right, save the missing inspection marking.

    TIA

Though rarely, it did occasionally happen . This is a 952000 range Colt 1911A1 with no acceptance initials or final acceptance mark.

Does the 850000 range Colt have the final acceptance mark on the right side?

Yes it does. How does this impact value? Up or down?

Like most everything else that is not textbook, it would depend on the individual. Some might not like it because it does not have the final acceptance, but I like it as another example of hurry up production where something was missed. There are examples of 1911A1 pistols with no finger cutouts in the frame, or maybe only on one side. They went through final inspection and were not caught. I bought the one shown for what a fully inspected Colt of the same time frame would have cost.

The no right side acceptance mark is correct on a 730,000 range Colt. That one has been through rebuild.
