Default Question about USMC M40 Redfield scope bases and rings.

What sets the rings and bases used on the Vietnam Era M40s from the standard Redfield scope bases and rings available to the civilian market?

    Default

It was an early base with square corners and lrings with 1-64 markings, 4 slotted screw rings.

Badger Ordinance currently makes a good visual replica of the square Redfield base but uses allen screws to secure the ring caps.

Many builders use the chamfer edge Redfield base with 64 marked rings on their clones. The USMC did use some cut corner bases late and into A1 production.

There are pictures of legit M40 bases to be found in this trove of info...
