Glen Campbell is a talented guy and a fabulous gitar picker. Had a lot of great songs. Too bad he is suffering from the advanced stages of Alzheimer's disease.
He is up there in talent along with Buck Owens and Roy Clark.
Many don't realize it, but Roy Clark set a new standard for pickers. Just like SRV set the bar to a new height for benders.
(My favorite guitarists are Mark Knopfler and Dickie Betts.)

I'd rather hear him play the pipes.
Glen is a (very) distant cousin of my wife's. Very sad story - truly a great musician.
Campbell is good. Roy Clark is probably the best "picker", with Jerry Reed hot on his tail.
I liked Glenn Campbell's stuff from the first time I heard "Lineman for the County" but I do think he zigged when he should have zagged. Up came Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson.
Much as I liked the early Glenn Campbell, my heart went elsewhere. I didn't know the man was still alive & I wish him peace, rest, and that his mind will clear if only for a minute before he passes.
