John McCain was a friend to NDN people, to the best of his ability. He and Stu Udall put together the Udall=-McCain settlement of the so-called Navajo-Hopi land dispute way back when. The (white, liberal) support groups bombed congress with letters and phone calls opposing the "genocidal" Udall-McCain settlement. The final settlement of that dispute was nowhere near as good for the people as Udall McCain. We settled it and it was a lousy settlement.Originally Posted by S.A. Boggs
