    Yes, I was aware of that. S&S is pushing the "legit" cause. I do not know the source of their ID. Al Frasca says that there is absolutely zilch as to fabrication records, mention in field reports, etc. etc. My feeling is that, if there was no sling under consideration, WHY are the "extra" swivels on the guns? They figured things to the mil in those days, so why waste the money? I was all ready to give S&S the $200 (actually trade them some parts) when someone called my attention to one on eBay, which I took for $65. So, if they turn out to be water-bag rigging for the camel corps, I saved $135!!

    I will say that the sling EXACTLY fits my XC, though, when using the holes showing the most wear. And, remember that "gunslings" were "gunslings" in their culture, meant to be reused from model to model - perhaps they did not see it necessary to differentiate them in the fabrication reports?
