I appreciate the workmanship of the master gunsmiths who customized the 1903 and 1922M1 Springfields.

So do I, but don't you think there's a world of difference between the Bob Owens, Shelhamers, etc., that Petrov wrote about and this "Weatherby-style" stock, which came into vogue in the '60s? It might be a custom stock, but it could also be the kind of thing a customer could order ready-made from Bishop or Fajen.
