    Default 1884 Springfield Questions

Hi, I have several questions on my 1873 Springfield. It has a serial number#295719, would that mean it was made it 1884? Which is how the stock is marked. Is there any way to see the unit it was issued to and when? It is a very nice rifle and shoots great. I shoot soft lead bullets only. So far it holds a 5 inch group at 200 yards bench rested.

No numbers even close to your rifle. Enjoy shooting it and care for it.

No idea what might be the answers to your questions. But, five inch groups at 200 yds. is outstanding! You have a great rifle. Enjoy! Sincerely. bruce.
