Default M1 Carbine Herter's Reloading Tools

Bought a lot not long ago, and these were part of it. Sizer and seater with original box and instructions. Also another Herter's tool that says "30, 38, 401, EXP". Is that a primer remover? The fourth piece is a Wilson case holder. All are in like new condition.

I have no use for these, and want to sell them. Can you guys give me an idea as to how old they are and what they are worth, before I list them on the forum, for sale. Thanks!

    Mike

They look to have been made by Lyman for Herter's. The die marked with the 30, 38, 401, EXP is most likely a universal deprimering tool. They would date to around the 60's to early 70's maybe. I would guess maybe about a third of what a new set would go for. Lee dies with carbine sizer runs around the $30 mark or so. Being steel dies there is not as much desire for them.

I've seen similar die sets on Ebay bringing $15-20.
