    My favorite 03 is 1400694 with a 5-44 HS barrel and Lyman rear sight.

    What year is it and is it listed in the DCM book? Headless cocking pice nice looking rifle.

    It has both the reverse safety and the headless cocking piece both of which are/were available on early NM M1903's.

    I appreciate all the assistance with my questions about this rifle. I'm not very knowledgeable about the 1903s. Based on the photos - and the serial number being in the middle of a group of SRS documented rifles - is this a correct Springfield National Match? thanks, Chris

    Looks good to me. Military "team" rifles probably won't show on SRS, just civilian "sales" rifles. You definitely have a NM rifle there.
