Hello,

I've got myself a Winchester M70 which I use to hunt with occasionally. Probably an overkill but no kill like an overkill.

I really want to try night hunting. Not professionally, the only thing I have real experience with is the firing range... So yeah... That said, I did some varmint hunting at daytime, it wasn't that bad.

From my experience, standard optics is enough to make a lot of things more or less visible in the dark. But I have my doubts about hunting in the night in the middle of nowhere, without all the light pollution (which helps). I was thinking about infrared scopes but it doesn't exactly sound like something I would actually want to bother with. Too expensive, too demanding.

The problem is, I'm not sure if I need such a scope. And if I don't what could I use instead?

Thank you.
