Good advice on HS testing. I just bought an Okie coin-style HS field gauge for my No. 4 .303 cal. that doesn't require disassembling the bolt. It has a hole for the striker and a notch for the extractor. It's dimention is .074" which is British mil spec.
He has taken it to a gun smith and got a clean bill of health, should be pulling the trigger next week on our hunting trip.

Technically, Ken, it's the gun case that is on the new kitchen counter. Why don't you test the waters by field-stripping the rifle directly on to the counter surface and send pictures.
