Does this mean National Match? (NMP) what is the P for?

P to my knowledge means Pistol Grip, that it was equipped with a Type C stock .. if I'm not mistaken? And yes, NM is National Match.

The Type "C" stock did not appear until ~1929. Since that rifle was sold in 1925 I would suspect that it had a Type "B" stock if the "P" means pistol grip.
    FWIW
