    Default Possible German WW-1 badge

Just looks Teutonic. It's in a collection of WW-1 bits I received years ago including trimmings from his Doughboy image.jpguniform....

FWIW - The Eagle looks American or Mexican to me.

Is that a snake in the right talon? (That is an ancient Greek and Roman symbol of good triumphing over evil).

Hmm. I kind of thought it was an Objective lens such as on a telescope or rangefinder? Wondered if it was an observer badge of some kind. It seems to have had two brass loops which have been cut off, that I imagine allowed it to slip on to a strap.

    I see nothing snake-like.

Everybody and his brother(sometimes literally) in Europe used eagles heraldically. Don't think that one is heraldic. Most military stuff is based on heraldry one way or another. German eagle looks the other way too. Absolutely not a German flight Observers badge. There's a picture of one of those here, near the bottom. Below Richthoffen and Goring.

Most German stuff has oak leaves around a centre thingy as well.
    Might be Italian though.
    Spelling and grammar count!
