So this was with the 1907 model Mark II Ross I posted about the other day when my friend bought it. One can only say its been with the gun since he owned it but it appears period correct. It was made 8 of 1909 and the rifle was made in 1909. It has the Canadian broad arrow acceptance stamp. 58 Regiment Westmount Rifles was a Canadian unit from Google that was formed in 1914. Both the sheath and bayonet are US marked and have flaming bomb. I can only assume each of the 20,000 rifles came with bayonet and sheath to the US in 1917. The last picture in written in ink and either is elegant hand writing or a stamp. H.Donald Morgan 1917-18. Who knows when it was done, maybe and inspector? or was it signed by the U.S. Soldier that it was issued to in 1917. I listed in on GB 569558076 but thought some of you would enjoy the pictures.
