    Default Odd Sear

Was give a bunch of M1911 parts today. In the bag was two carbine sears. One is a Type II marked BI. This is the one in question. It is a Type III and marked with C with a 4 in the center. Where the cupped portion is on the bottom of the sear is a small tip/tit sticking out. The sear looks to be cast, as there is a seam down the center. Anyone seen one of there before?

I believe Springfield Armory experimented with cast parts for the carbine. It could be one of those.
