Default Tool to remove inner nut on M84 scope knobs

I was at a garage sale and lucked into some original M84 scope parts sold by Sarco in the early 90's. Among them were a new windage and elevation knob, along with two knob covers. To replace the old parts on one of my M84 scopes I need a tool that will remove the small inner nuts that hold the old windage and elevation knobs in place. Does anyone have a picture of what this special tool looks like so I can have one made.

    Thanks,

You can take a small, thin blade screw driver and cut a small slot in it effectively making a small spanner wrench. Worked well for me.

    I'll try that.

Well I ground a groove in an old thin bladed screw driver and loosened the large nut so its slots lined up with the slots in the small retaining nut. Worked like a charm. Thank You

You're most welcome, glad it worked for you.
