    Default Calibre 44-40 reloading

I am considering buying a pistol in cal. 44-40. I see there is plenty of loaded ammo for it for sale. I have heard that it is finicky to reload. So, Hornady ammo at $16.00 per 20 rounds or reload cheaper? What is your experience please?

I don't reload the stuff but the issue for all of the Winchester bottleneck cartridges made for the Model 73 and 92 rifles is supposed to be very thin brass in the neck. I said supposed to be, those probs may have been rectified by now.

I can't speak to the 38-40, but my 44-40 IS a pain to reload due to the very thin case mouths.

The 32-20 or the 25-20, on the other hand, poses NO problem for me. --Jim
