I have been offered this M1A1.

The stock is not original to the carbine. While both appear to be the real deal, that stock was never issued with that carbine.

    Thank you Tuna.
Would you mind telling me how you can tell?
Also, what is it worth as is?

So it is a first run production serial number with a second run production stock.
Thank you again for this helpful information.

The stock is a second run type. The serial number puts the carbine in the first run serial group. There are several minor differences in the two stock types.
