M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine - Please Help.

I was offered this M1A1 Carbine for $4K.
I asked the seller for more photos which he is going to provide.
This is what I have so far.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Does it look in original condition?
Flip site original?
Also, is $4K in the ball park for this rifle.
I am told by the seller that it is all correct but again, I am waiting for additional photos.

Might be real, but it looks too good to not have been refinished at some time. 70 plus year old leather shouldn't be that nice either. Just a WHAG. of course.

Wow that is nice! Last original one I saw at a gunshow was beat up bad and it was $4000 and sold.

The pictures look correct to me, nice metal, leather condition is fine, rivets are good. Buying on line is always a little scary.

The guy is not ready to sell it yet.
Basically he collects other military items.
When he finds something that he wants and he needs the money, he is going to give me a call to see if I want to buy the carbine.
In the mean time I am saving up.
I hope he finds something else so I can by the carbine.
