    There is no record of any M1Ds being issued with weaver K-4 scopes. Post a picture of the cartouche on the left side of the butt. Where is the cheek pad? There should be a screw hole behind the bottom of the pistol grip. I t looks like you have an assembly of parts rather than an original rifle.

    I agree. Need more info and closeups to verify. If it is a CMP/DCM rifle you should be able to acquire the sale info from them. Mount is rare, scope not so.

    yes, the issued close to 75 rifles. Good write up in Canfields book on them. said some were in lockers up to the early 90's

    An M1D without paper work is only worth the some of the parts. If the buyer is happy with his purchase, that's all that matters. Future resale may be disappointing though.
