    Default Hi-Standard model "D"

I just got a Hi-Standard model D .22 pistol. Built in 1940 it looks close to new. It has Franzite RH target grips on it now wich are great but I like to shoot with either hand. It looks like I'll have to buy a set of regular grips for it. Can't wait to go shooting!!!!!

I have a set of Franzite grips on an Olympic high standard,

they fit my hand like a glove,
be careful with them, they can be fragile

I'd leave them on except I can't shoot it left handed when i want to. Very large thumb rest on them. I've never seen another set of grips like them.

I tried to buy a set of grips but they don't fit this model. They have 2 screws to hold the frips on but they must extend almost up to the slide to hold a cover plate on. Lyman; can you send me a picture of your pistol so I can compare it to what I have?

I think you have made a mistake on the Model Number of your High Standard pistol, If you have two screw grips it is in all probability a Model "B", post a picture or PM , and maybe I can identify it for you --

It has model D on the slide which made me think it's a D. Suppose to be made circa 1940. Found a place to get custom grips made. I'll make a tracing of the grips and see if i can have them made.
