Happy Birthday Dick!
Happy Birthday Dick!
Well - - thank you very much, my good friend!
On a subject of common interest, number 36 has emerged. It also has the "pre-production" sight.
I think it was just early work on the switch to using a receiver, in response to complaints about the 1866. There were no formal 'trials' in progress.
This new find has yet another version of the 1868 stamping. Coarser than mine, and tighter spaced, as well as being very heavily struck, but seriously misaligned. They must have been done by hand.
I have photos of a number of the blocks, which I may put up. Wish I could get one of yours.
+1 on wishing you a very Happy Birthday!

Glad you made it to another one Dick... Getting older isn't for sissies... but it beats the alternative all to heck & back..
