Was looking at my sporter and realized that the serial number was not far from my 1898 carbine so now I am wondering.
Anyone have any info on Rifle 120907? Wondering if the receiver was from a carbine.

#120,903 - #120,906 - & - #120,919 are model 1898 rifles issued to 3rd Kentucky Vol. Inf., 12-17-1898. #120,929 is a '98 carbine @ Tientsin, China, 12/09/1929. (Per Mallory, 2nd Edition, Krag Rifle Story).
FWIW - Close doesn't help much.
