I have seen several sources for the 1887 repro sling. They seem to be offered in various lengths by different sources. What is the correct length? Who might be the best quality source? Thanks for all replies.

FWIW, if you intend on using the sling to carry, or on a Wall Hanger, go with the 1887 or 1903... but if you are planning on shooting in vintage matches from position, get a 1907. It's what most of us use.

I just got a Turner 1907 for mine. I bought a 56" (front loop) to go with my long arms and a head position back far enough that I can work the bolt without changing my cheek position. Excellent service during what has to be their busy season, a few weeks before the National Matches.

LTC - IMHO, The sling you want will depend on your purpose and use.
As others have stated, the model 1907 sling is the most practical for target shooting.
For the SAW period, the 66 1/2" length (model 1887) is the most appropriate. Reproductions that are longer can not be properly tensioned on the Krag.
For the period 1903 and later, a 48" Krag sling is appropriate.
The earlier slings for the Krag were intended as 'carry straps' and not shooting aids.
