    Default Thoughts on this Krag?

krag 004.jpgkrag 001.jpgkrag 005.jpgkrag 002.jpgkrag 003.jpgReceived Krag, Has shortened stock, 30" barrel is like new. Action is excellent cond. Sling is supple with no cracks. 1917 RIA. Not bad for 350. Buttstock has some real nice figure.

Somebody cut the forend off of a nice Krag. For some money, the wood could be spliced back onto what's left and you then would only need a front barrel band, stacking swivel, screws and a hand guard. It's been done before. Nice wood.

Could be a good start for something to build. I like the tiger striping in the wood, don't see many of those.

What a shame someone cut it off. Very neat muzzle cove. Sweetens the deal.

    You the buyer?

I think you did all right. I have spliced a foregrip under the band. That tiger striping would be tough to match though. Anything in the butt plate?

    Shoot it and enjoy!

Rifle is coming with a $75-$100 M1907 sling.

The sling and muzzle cap added about 200 to the 300 dollar worth rifle, so 350 was not a bad price.
