Default Winchester model 1200 Trench Shotgun opinions

What do you guys think of this Model 1200 Trench? I think it's probably ok, but what do the experts say?

I didn't know what this was. Maybe a Military or Police marking? Maybe a inspection/rebuild mark?

    Steve,

Fantasyland. This shotgun is not in either of the correct serial ranges for a military contract 1200 trench. Looks like genuine USGI parts on a commercial receiver with a U.S. added.

Man my friend is going to be heartbroken. He paid a lot of money for it.

This is exactly why I don't touch these trench guns. They are so humped up.

But thanks so much Jeff for responding!

They are still awesome to have. I bought a bunch of parts at a gun show and considered it a real cache. Forends, swivels, parked bolts, parked shell carriers, odd n ends. I have bought my barrel from ebay maybe 10 yrs ago. The US on my barrel is a very small font and from a good stamping tool. The common 1/8 stamps are often crappy and just too big. At least the serial is underneath unlike newer ones on the side.
Too bad know-it-alls can't do it all
