Default Need a Golcher lock plate for this rifle

I am trying to find a Golcher Lock plate for this. It appears to be in the .30 something cal. My father has it and would like to complete it. Any help on where to look would be great. Rick B

Rick, I'd ask over on the american longrifle forum.

A decent machinist could make you a replacement lock plate.
AFAIK Gloucher lockplates were handmade and hence, "Non-interchangeable."

A decent machinist could use the inletting in the stock to determine the outside dimensions of the lockplate for a perfect fit.

Do you have the rest of the parts? If not, Dixie Gun Works, Track of the Wolf, etc., could supply the hammer and internal parts. One would need those parts to locate the hole for the tumbler in the lockplate, the holes for the spring studs, etc.

    Good Luck!

For example, the U.S. military firearms from the U.S. Model 1842 and later muskets and rifle-muskets were INTERCHANGEABLE like modern firearms.
