Not hard to figure at all, as you will see when auctions close. The sum of major parts on most Mossbergs are worth more then the rifles. I collect Moss. from 30's to 50's. About all you see at shows anymore will be missing sights and swivels, and prices are still going up for the rifles! Is your rifle US marked? If so it needs a S-100, to be correct. These sights will go for 80-100 bucks, unless you get luckey!

    Dave,
I have a couple questions. I have been bitten by the Mossberg .22 bug BAD!!! in the last month I have acquired a very minty 51M (b) a M44 U.S. property marked in unissued condition. and another M44(a) (not property marked) also in mint condition. as well as a scoped M44 property marked with a early Weaver B6 scope on it. ( I have a mint condition Weaver G4 I am going to put on it )

my question is about the sights? could the M44(a) have the S-130 originally on it? you told me my M44 Property marked needs a S-100 to be correct. just happens that the M44(a) has a mint s-100 on it. and I have a matching condition s-130 I picked up to put on the Property marked 44 before you told me it wasn't the correct sight.( it was missing the sight) if I put the S130 on the 44(a) and swapped the S-100 to the Property marked M44 would it make them correct? they are both in the same condition and coloring so there isn't any problem with them not looking like they came on the rifles...

My 44 US b has an S100 on it, I assume it came with that? It also has a front sight that has a number of different style apertures you can flip up. It's a fragile setup and I'm surprised it survived all these years.

No. The S-130 first shows up on the M44(c)
