Interesting numbers. I wonder what "that Senator" was looking for.
I collect expensive hobbies.
You should include Canada. We issued M1 Grand rifles and 1943 issue Colt 45 1911a1 pistols
Strange, I see the US sent arms to countries hostile to us, why?
I am not sure about those Iran numbers. I thought Iran bought about 100,000 M1 Garands (with a preference for IHCs)?
"I see the US sent arms to countries hostile to us..." They weren't (considered) hostile at the time. Iran is a good example.
Given the number of M1 rifles given to Greece....a lot were never used. Going by the amount of excellent Greek Air Force rifles that were sold....I assumed it was more.
Man I tell you what, if we did loan or give Canada any weapons in WWI or WWII.......... it would be little enough to help our great neighbor. If they want to keep them that's okay too..............if they were returned now... the present administration would destroy them anyway.

OFC, Mo. Chapter
"...We issued..." Nope. 25 Brigade trained with M1 Rifles, issued by the U.S. government, for Korea, but neither the rifle nor pistol have ever been officially adopted by Canada.
Lend/Lease was to the Brits, who sent most of the rifles back un-used.
Spelling and grammar count!
