Need help pricing this Colt 1917 US Property

I thought I had this priced to sell but evidently not. I would appreciate your opinion on market value.

I'm no expert; I just go by what guns are selling for in my area (SE IA). Those pistols are not in demand around here usually priced at $500 give or take. A friend bought one recently paid $350 in condition 50%. Your pistol is very nice tho. Good luck.

A very nice pistol but if those are some rust spots in the pictures then at 90% it would retail for $850 and drops off from there fast.

I'd retake the pix, especially of the left side....... the light that is reflecting from it, looks as if the metal is almost in the white is probably bothering some folks..... when it's just the lighting. Other than that your photos are precise & in focus...... better photos would be a help........ good luck., I've only seen one better & it was posted here on Jousters.

There is some freckling which I guess is rust but nothing you can feel that is raised or pitting. I was trying to highlight the imperfections with the pictures and it does look like pitting in a couple shots. Thanks for the advice.

Yes I agree, too much glare. I will try to improve on them but I do struggle with the blue guns. Thanks for your help.

Firearms with high start prices get few bidders unless there is something that sets it apart.It's hard to get someone to bid in an auction where the start price is essentially what the value of the gun is or higher.

I've been watching how things sell on GB for quite awhile,I have some stuff I want to get rid of myself.I don't want to take a bath either LOL.From what I've seen too high a start or reserve or a buy it now too close to the reserve makes potential bidders look elsewhere.I've noticed low or no minimum guns many times bring more than similar fixed price ones.People get caught up in a bidding war.You can also have an item up for too long,people forget about it or it gets buried on their a watch list by other items and forgotten about.I ran a lot of vintage sporting items on e-bay last year,I did as well on 3 and 5 day auctions as the 7 day ones.It stays fresh in their minds up to about 5 days or high enough on their watch list they'll remember to bid before they find 12 other like items and bury yours under them on a watch list.Items like your 1917 I'll watch for awhile and see what they are actually going for at auction.Fixed prices at dealer rates do not move well unless it is something of really limited availability.
