Thread: HXP price

    Default HXP price

    Hi guys!

I'm selling some ammo locally for the widow of a good friend of mine. He died suddenly in his sleep recently, shocking all of us. He has/had a few 192 round spam cans of .30 M2 ball HXP. I want to sell it at the price he paid for it from the CMP so as to get the most money for the wife without gouging the local guys. Can anyone tell me what that stuff sold for recently, say up to 5 years ago?

    Thank you, Steve

For a long time it was about .52 cents a rd with shipping figured in. Now I think it's up to about .64 cents with the shipping figured in. I haven't bought any from CMP in a couple of years.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Around a hundred and ten a tin would be fair to all.

I have my receipts somewhere, but in june 2012 a 200 round can loose was $90 plus tax about 48 Cents a round. In 2008 Boxed was 28 cents, and clipped was 31 cents a round. The current LC and SL spam cans of 520 boxed are selling at 72 cents a round (good US ammo). Based upon those prices and current Gun Broker prices for HXP in spam cans Avg about $1 a round. I would say to be fair to the lady you should sell it at around $150 a can. Your ammo is most likely in bandoliers and clipped. No one is selling HXP bando's for less than $40 which would be $160 a can. The best price available to anyone now is 64 cents for loose HXP which is delinked MG ammo. Not nearly as nice as clipped ammo all in the same lot, etc. Its selling at 190$ a can without shipping with no problem, so if you wanted to give someone a bargain sell it at $125 plus shipping and you would sell it all within an hour(minutes) of posting it on this forum or any other. I know you want to be fair but at that price I believe all buyers would be happy in this environment. Just my 2 Centavos, and I am sure some folks are grinding their teeth.

    regards,
    CC
