  1. Default Inland Stock Markings

I'm trying to find the correct stock for my 94,000 range Inland. I know it must be high wood, I-cut, IO in the well, maybe with a bomb and maybe not. What about the circle P proof on the pistol grip and the circled cross cannons on the right side? I'm thinking the circle P was there from the beginning and was dropped near the end of '43 or early part of '44. I also think I remember that the circled cannons mark started out in the well and then got much bigger and moved to the right side some time in late '42.

What's the received wisdom on the circle P and crossed cannons marks?

And does anybody have a correct stock they want to part with?

My 115k original inland with high wood I cut has cross cannon stamp on side and circle p at grip.

Hard to see due to flash but cannons there.

Just a quick photo tip. When using a flash on a shiny surface, take the picture at a slight angle so the reflection bounces away from the camera. In this case, angled slightly from front to rear.

The stock you need is one marked OI in the sling well with or without the bomb stamp. The acceptance stamp on the right side not in the sling well. Circle P on the heel of the pistol grip. This was standard after the first 30,000 or so Inland carbines till the end of the I cut stock usage.
