    I don't think these notches got there accidentally, there is some significance to them. Yes the numbers on the grips match the Colt serial number not the military number. It is a very nice revolver but there doesn't seem to much interest in the auction.

    I decided to send both 1917's to jackthedog, they will probably be listed in a couple weeks. Thanks for the feedback all.

    IMHO the price is a bit steep, for me anyway.
