  1. Default Service Ace kit slide stop

    I have a Service Ace kit. Kuhnhausen has a reference to this requiring a different slide stop than the standard .45 piece, and gives what seems to be a Colt part number. Can't find any links to that except he mentions it is the same stop as used in the .38 Special Gold Cups.

    Does anyone have an idea of how this differs from a regular .45 slide stop? Haven't been able to find a source for the listed p/n and my previous experience with Colt is less than encouraging.

    Slide stops come in three " sizes" that I'm aware of . There's #1 for .45 auto , #2 for .22s , and #3 for .38 Super . The difference is in the amount of length on the arm that reaches inside and is activated by the mag follower. Different mags , different arm specs.

    Got it. Thank you. Kuhnhausen listed the different ones but didn't explain the difference.
