    The two cuts resemble those on a Krag rifle I have that was used on one of the target machines pictured in Brophy's book.

    Well I thought about getting into the fight for the case of Trapdoors. Watched the auction and was about to bid and it went from 8500 to 12,000 in a split second and than it jumped to 29,000. Well to say the least I was left in the dust. But it was fun for that split second.

    Word is that the crate is not "original" in the true sense of being a virgin period find - it is believed to have been assembled in the Las Vegas area (need I say more) within the last 20 years.

    Still, it is imposing to look upon, and the dealer who bought it will likely make a profit. Serials span a range of 300,000 overall, but there is one consecutively numbered pair.
