    Default alaskan spot shot install...need help.

    hi, just got this spot shot for my Alaskan scope. looks like it screws into the front of the scope by removing the thread band in-front of the glass. how is this band removed? anyone ever install one please help me out..thanks

    I think the objective lens may need to come out also, the band is held in by a set screw and it is part of a lens housing. I had a tool made to remove the lens housing.

    if I were you I would ask the maker of the "spotshot" how to do it. You could mess up your scope and if that doesnt pan out ask some one who is in the scope repair business, ever hear "if it aint broke dont fix it?" The saying for this problem sounds like it should say "if you dont know dont mess with it "
