Default Problem with extended slide stop

I installed said part on my ATI 45 after modifing the grip panel. The slide will not go forward now. The 'shaft' diameter of new part is .002 smaller than original. Would this cause the barrel link or slide to 'jam'?

    Thank for all replies.

I wouldn't think it would, .002 is the thickness of a human hair.

Did you measure it at the frame bearing ends or where cross link rides?
    Should measure around.200. 1911A1 speçs are.203 min. .205 max.
Kuhnhausen said junkem if smaller than ..198
Make sure crosspin where link rides falls in these specs then we can move on...

Iran into a head scratcher with an out of spec slide lock...trying to remember brand name.

Does the slide stop pivot down far enough to release the slide ?
Is there any projection on the inside catching the slide ?

I measured the shaft along it's entire length. The slide stop does go down far enough to release the slide. Manufacturer is unknown. Actual measurement is .198. I think I will dump this part.

Dremel time....... Ok, seriously though, are you looking too far into the problem? Could the slide stop be binding somewhere else? I had the same problem with my extended slide stop and 20 seconds of careful grinding on the lug slicked it right up.
