Barrel date 8-44. There is "A82" near the chamber area. Also has "P" with serif at the bottom of the front sight. Is this a u.s or import etc...any info is appreciated....thank you

RA is Remington, it's a 1903A3 barrel. Look down the bore and see if it's 2 or 4 groove. Probably 2
A82 (sure it's not A32??) is the steel lot code.

2-groove barrels were introduced about mid-1943 and used exclusively on production Remington M1903A3s and for replacement barrels after that time. They are extremely common.

8-44 is the month and year made..
P is a visable proof marking..
A82 is a lot code.
2 groove rifling..
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.
