  1. Default 2 stage original to single stage original, How?

I just grabbed a Eddystone sporter and the trigger pull is extremely light and I mean light, just a tiny bit of pressure and it breaks. All of my other 1917s have a 2 stage trigger so I took it apart expecting some bubba work but I don't see any additional work. all of the trigger and bolt parts are original and nothing has been added. So, my question is..... what may have been done to get these results? I am going to restore this one but I just don't see what has been done.

    any help will be appreciated!

What kind of stock is on that sporter? Maybe a pic of it if you want to unload it.

hacked up original, way too short and they even sanded down the wrist hook!

On such a trigger modificatiion, the sear is sometimes cut so short that the cocking piece will overide the sear if the rifle is operated rapidly. With an UNLOADED rifle, cock the rifle and lift up on the bolt plug to see if this condition exists.

It seems to me that modifications of a trigger or safety may be asking for a law suit if anything goes wrong and ,God forbid, somebody gets hurt.

the 1917's factory trigger is one of the best there is on a milsurp, why people alter it makes no sense!

someone probably ground off the "hump" on the trigger to make it a single stage. 1917 parts are pretty common on ebay under enfield parts.........chris3
