Default ID an old CASE fixed blade "survuval" knife?

    Hello,

Recently was gifted the following knife.

The blade marking is identical to the 1932 - 1940 marking listed on the CASE website,
the blade length is 4-7/8" from handle base to blade tip, blade style is similar to the "DOD Pilot Rescue"knife" with no "saw-tooth back", blade thickness is 7/32",
and the depth of blade ranges from 1" (@ blade/handle joint) to start of clip point drop 1-1/8".

The handle is a smoothed Aluminum handle, secured with one cross-pin, handle length is 3-3/4", it is missing the screw-in pommel cap for the handle and the interior is hollow to a depth of 2-7/8", there are 5-1/2 interior threads for the missing pommel cap.

Attached are two photographs, showing the overall length and condition of the knife.

Background is standard 1" - 4 graph paper and the scale is a standard "Architect scale" showing the 1" -10 scale.

I was able to ID the pommel interior thread as being: 3/4" -16UNF.

    Thanks for responses.

PS: was help a "Buddy" with deceased relative house, pick-up old tool box and opened the lid.

Told him to lift the tray and when he did there was this knife and a PRISTINE Utica M4.

Had it been a M3, we would not be friends!
