My SRS information shows the rifle sold on 6-18-1930 as a 1922M1 in the NRA stock. I asked the seller if the bolt was numbered to the receiver and he responded that it was. Another collector told me that the name of the person who bought it from the DCM was not the same as the VMI Rifle team coach who is named on all the documentation.

My DCM sales record book does not show that number but does show 19352, as sold 1930, MI with NRA stock and butt plate. Does SRS say it was sold by DCM?

My information about 1922M1 being sold by DCM comes from a document entitled Summary of DCM Rifle Sales, 1922 - 1942, Model 1922 Cal .22 Rifles. I purchased this from SRS back when Frank Mallory was the owner. I rechecked and the number 19353 is listed.

Well I have the same booklet, copyright 1976. Must be a 'first edition', were there others? My book shows 19352 (1931, not 30) and then a gap to 19366, Page 68, near the bottom. Unless the number is out of numercal seqence?

dave, I also have the 1976 copyrighted blue book. I bought it at an estate sale last year. The SRS document I found #19353 in is copied on 8 1/2" by 11" paper. There is one group of serial numbers for the 1922 series, all stapled together and another group of serial numbers for the 1903's. There were serial numbers for other guns but I seldom refer to them. I bought the copied pages from SRS in the 1990's.

    You wouldn't have a hit for a 1903 serial number 1341665

LAH, No hit on #1341665 but it is about 300 numbers lower than some International Match 1903's.

    Thanks Herschel

Mine is just a plain rifle. It has SA 1-30 barrel on it and measures new on both ends. One of these
days I'm going to make it to the gun show there in Hot Springs and see you I hope.

    thanks again,

    Loy

Loy, I missed the Hot Springs show last month due to my having contracted a kind of tick fever called Ehrlichiosis. The Arkansas Gun and Cartridge Collector show is next month at the state fairgrounds in Little Rock. It is normally the best show in AR and I plan to have tables there.
