A bolt marked "NS" (Nickel Steel) would have been pre-WW2 production for a Model 1903. Although it will obviously fit and function just fine in a Model 03-A3, the market value for a nice NS 1903 bolt is several times higher than an original 03-A3 bolt, so factor that into the equation if you are looking to buy the rifle.
